Beaux is a 1-2 year old male shih tzu/terrier mix and he weighs about 9 pounds. Beaux arrived in rescue after coming from a home with too many dogs that could not properly care for him. He has settled into foster care nicely and is thriving! Please know Beaux is NOT "hypo-allergenic". His foster parents say: Beaux is a tender-hearted little guy with a sweet, old soul. He can be shy at first with new people and new environments, but once he feels safe, he blossoms into a cuddly, playful companion who loves being near “his” people. He adores plush toys and proudly brings them to you as his way of asking to play. He’s great at fetch and reliably returns his toys. As a puppy, he does play-mouth hands and wrists—he’s gentle, but young children may find it startling. Beaux has a fun, goofy side (hello, zoomies!) but also loves quiet time on his bed or curled up next to his humans. He’s just learning to enjoy lap time during cozy TV evenings and gives lots of kisses—though he hasn’t given face kisses yet.<br/><br/>Good boy qualities:<br/> • Walks well on a harness<br/> • Shy but not barky around strangers or dogs<br/> • Loves exploring the world through sniffing<br/> • Enjoys baths and lives for the blow dryer<br/> • Not a big barker, but will alert when needed<br/> • Makes the cutest little squeaky noises when playing<br/><br/>Potty Training:<br/>He uses a pee pad well but sometimes misses when he needs to poo. He’ll need continued outdoor potty training and socialization in his new home.<br/><br/>Sleep:<br/>He currently sleeps in his own bed next to his foster’s bed. He’d happily sleep with you, but he hasn’t been allowed to get used to that just in case his forever family prefers otherwise.<br/><br/>Separation:<br/>Beaux will do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. He has mild separation anxiety and will whine when his person leaves but usually settles quietly in his bed.<br/><br/>Beaux is a sweet, sensitive little pup who is ready to give his whole heart to the family who gives him a chance. He can’t wait to meet his forever people.<br/><br/>Beaux is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and has had his teeth cleaned.<br/><br/>Beaux is fostered in the Orlando area and his adoption donation is $400.
