Beau's Story

All hounds are special and lovable and make amazing family pets. But, sometimes, there seems to be an extra special dose of goodness with tan and black hounds.
For instance, our Beau. He is so handsome and loving and gentle. But, there is an element to him that just kind of, well, makes you laugh out loud - every single day.
Like the time he dug a hole to get under the fence....not to freedom but to the little area where all the cleaning tools are kept for his section. Maybe he thought there was the golden treasure of treats in there, or maybe he thought he would give the volunteers a break that day and clean his own run.
Whatever the case may be, he could not figure out how to get back - it apparently never occurred to him that he could go right back under the fence with the spectacular hole he dug, not ten minutes before!
But that's our Beau - silly and playful and full of love for anyone who comes near him! Even 100 feet away, that's close enough for Beau to want to make a beeline to you and hug you tightly and forever.
Beau is six-years-old and healthy! He seems to enjoy other dogs and kids. He has a look in his eyes that says he will love you until the end of time.
Beau is definitely one of the special ones! Please come meet this handsome hound any day from 9am-12pm! He will be waiting and he will be happy to show you where all the cleaning tools are kept!
Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!

PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

We require an in-person meeting prior to processing an adoption application. If you think one of our dogs could be a good fit, come for a visit! If all goes well and you decide to pursue adoption, you may submit your adoption application. Once your family, including any dogs, have also met with the dog you wish to adopt, your application will be submitted to the Adoption Committee for review. We estimate the pre-adoption process can take up to 14 days or longer. PLEASE NOTE: AAS is committed to finding the best fit for each of our dogs. For this reason, we will accept multiple applications for a dog. In the case of multiple applications, we will select the applicant that is the best fit based on the needs of the dog. Adoption fee for puppy/adult dogs is $300.00. Adoption fee for senior dogs is $150.00. We prefer that adopters be located within 40 miles of the shelter to facilitate post adoption follow up.
