Beau's Story
Beau is a very smart dog and wants to please. He is about 70 pounds. He does need a time to bond with new people and family. Beau loves to play outside and is always on a leash unless he is in the fenced dog pen area. He goes for walks on longer length leash to allow exploring He loves to be outside sniffing flowers and looking at nature. He does play ball and will do fetch for short periods of time until he gets tired of chasing the balls. A fenced yard is necessary for him.

Beau has lots and lots of pluses- is a happy dog, can chill and remain laid back as well as being fun loving with playtime, loves to snuggle at any time, will amuse himself with hard dog toys, gets along with other OES here. He does have three situations that need to be worked on. He is not the greatest car rider. Beau gets anxious if there is a lot of noise, violence, fighting on the TV and will run toward it. His first visit to the groomer was a horrible experience per his previous owner and he has been resistant to having a groomer near since then. He does allow me to clip the hair around his eyes, clean out the eye residue each day and check his ears without a negative reaction. Beau does tolerate brushing and bathing. He just had a shave down at the vet a couple of weeks ago to get rid of the mats Beau will adapt to the grooming process as he is building a bond with you. He is probably going to need to be introduced to his groomer without any services, just an introduction, for a few times before he may be willing to cooperate.

He is the kind of dog that will go to the end of the earth for you and what you want but is weary of strangers and new situations definitely require his scrutiny. Since his grooming, he likes to curl up on the couch and likes a good belly rub. He is crate trained, neutered, microchipped, UTD on all shots, RV, had Bordetella preventative for kennel cough, lyme shot mixed with his distemper combo, heartworm tested and on preventative meds, on flea and tick control, no accidents in the house, gets along with the other OES here, no food aggressions, is treat motivated. He is turning 2 in July so coming out of the more difficult teenage years for dogs. A lot of noise from activity and kids would accelerate his energy. He has never been around young children that we are aware of.
