Beau's Story
Meet this gentle soul, a 1‐year‐old neutered pit/hound mix whose heart is as big as his soft brown eyes. He came to us a little unsure of the world, and while he can still be shy when meeting new people, he has a quiet bravery that shines through every day. With patience and kindness, he slowly lets his walls down--and once he trusts you, he becomes the sweetest cuddle companion you could hope for.

He's wonderfully good with other dogs, especially those with calm or friendly personalities who help him feel safe. His gentle nature also makes him a lovely match for elderly adopters or households with seniors; he moves softly, respects space, and seems to instinctively understand when someone needs a calm, steady presence.

He's still learning to walk on a leash, but he tries so hard and improves a little more each day. He already knows how to use a doggie door, which shows how smart and observant he is. With a consistent routine, he'll continue to blossom into a confident, well‐mannered companion.

If you're looking for a dog who will reward your patience with unwavering loyalty, deep affection, and quiet companionship, this boy is ready to start that journey with you. He just needs someone who sees the beauty in a shy dog learning to trust again.
****************
All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If not already spayed/neutered, there may be a short delay between when you select this pet and when they are ready to go home.

Breed and age are determined based on observable physical traits. Actual lineage and birth date are rarely known.

Adoption Fees:
-$60 for cats
-$60 for dogs over 6 years
-$80 for dogs 6 months old to 6 years
-$100 for puppies up to 6 months

Come visit our pets Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-2pm.
