Beasley's Story
ADULT HOME -Beasley has fear of new people and situations and noise sensitivity, not recommended for child home.
DOGS - YES
CATS - POSSIBLY, up for discussion depending on cat and experience
CAR - Yes, likes car
LEASH - Okay on leash, needs continued training
ACTIVITY LEVEL - Fairly high. Active home needed. She is also a puppy. She is fast and busy and pushy with those she knows.

Beasley is a 6 month old mixed breed who came into the shelter when her owner could no longer meet her needs. Her owner said they had, had her since she was 12 weeks old and she is a shepherd/terrier mix. Though she is a mix, she is very much so shepherd like in behaviour.

Beasley is a very intelligent dog who has some fear issues of strangers. Her initial reaction is barking and suspicion and distance. She will warm up if people respect her space and let her approach at her own pace. Beasley is very athletic and can easily bounce up to 5 or 6 feet in the air when she is excited.

Beasley has lived with cats. Her past family said she was good with their cat, but would chase strange cats in the yard. So careful, purposeful introductions, baby gates, rules, should be made to ensure that cat chasing not be the norm in a new home and likely she would be too much for timid cats as this is a very active dog.

Beasley loves other dogs and relaxes in their presence. She likes her toys and games. She is not leash trained but is quickly picking up on that.

Beasley's ideal home is an adult home who can help her gain more confidence and not be so afraid. It may take more than one visit to gain Beasley's trust. Her best match may be in a home with a confident, friendly dog as she is much more relaxed in their presence and more accepting of novel situations and people.

Beasley's adoption fee includes her spay which still needs to be done.
