Meet Bear!!<br/><br/>Fostering in San Fernando Valley, CA | Age: he is not telling. Our vet estimated at 2 years and he plays and runs like he is young, but we have some conflicting old records that say he may be much older. So we have listed him at 5 and have no idea if that is correct. Expect a fun, cuddly, and active guy!<br/><br/>Bear is about to become someone's really good dog — and we mean that. This gentle, sweet, and sensitive boy has been an absolute joy in foster care.<br/><br/>Handles with ease: Bear took his first bath like a champ, standing proudly through the whole thing (even face wipes!). He's totally comfortable being touched all over — no flinching, no sore spots, just a good boy letting you help him.<br/><br/>A natural on leash: On his very first walk, Bear trotted along the halter like he'd done it his whole life — no fuss, no hesitation. He's even got a proud little trit-trot happening already.<br/><br/>Loves to play: Give him a ball and he's set — he'll kick it around solo or play together with you. He's also a fan of a good chew stick to gnaw on.<br/><br/>Loves his people: Bear has already bonded closely with one of his foster dads. He thrives on companionship and isn't a fan of being left alone (though he settles down after a bit — he's still decompressing and adjusting).<br/><br/>Sleeps like a champ: Once he's out, he's out — deep, contented sleep.<br/><br/>Still learning about Bear:<br/><br/>He's a bit wary of squeaky/crinkle toys (the noise) but that may just take time<br/><br/>Eats well, including veggies and pumpkin<br/><br/>Mostly quiet, though he's been vocal during fireworks and is learning (with his foster's help) that barking isn't the way to get attention<br/><br/>No digging, no excessive whining — just some 'come find me' calling<br/><br/>Bear is new to this stage of settling in, but everything about him — his gentleness, his easy trust, his eagerness to bond — points to a dog who's going to make someone's home a lot happier.<br/><br/>Bear weighed in at vet at 30 pounds, but he needs to gain weight. That said, he will always be on smaller side (40 to 45 target)
