Bear's Story
Meet Bear — your loyal, laid-back adventure buddy 🐾
At 8 years young, this handsome German Shepherd mix has already lived quite a story and now he’s ready for his forever chapter. After losing his owner and ending up on a euthanasia list in California, Bear got a second chance and is now thriving in foster care in Colorado’s Western Slope, soaking up the good life and showing everyone just how special he is.
Bear is the definition of a gentle soul. He’s easy on leash, takes treats softly, and is happiest enjoying the simple things - long walks, car rides, chewing on a good bone, and cozy naps. He loves being near his people and has a calm, affectionate presence that makes him an easy companion.
He’s a social, people-loving dog who would do best in a home where someone is around often—work-from-home, retired, or a dog-friendly lifestyle would be ideal. A yard to relax in would be a big bonus.
Bear would thrive as the only dog in the home so he can soak up all the attention. He continues to learn new routines in foster care and is treat-motivated, making him a great candidate for continued training. Having a space of his own, like a crate, helps him feel safe and settled.
Bear is up-to-date on vaccinations and will come with some of his favorite things. He is not neutered. He also has a few minor, manageable health considerations, which his foster can happily discuss with interested adopters.
Ready to meet Bear?
