Bear's Story
Injured, Afraid, and Still Wagging His Tail

Bear is one of our most recent rescues, and when we picked him up, he was badly injured. While his physical wounds have healed, his emotional ones will take a bit longer.

When Bear first arrived, he was absolutely terrified. He truly believed that everything around him was going to hurt him. At that time, he was badly injured from trauma caused by other dogs before coming into our care — not the dogs he is with now — and he was kept separately when we rescued him.

Today, Bear's physical wounds have healed, and while he's still learning to trust, the fear no longer defines every moment. He's beginning to understand that he is safe. And every single day, despite what he's been through, Bear greets us with a wagging tail — a quiet but powerful sign of hope and resilience.

Bear is currently being fostered with our veterinarian, Dr. Bane, and her family. For the first time, he is learning what it means to live in a home filled with warmth, kindness, and love. He's discovering that gentle hands exist, that rest is safe, and that not every interaction ends in pain.

This boy has the kindest face. You can see it in his eyes — an incredible soul who wants nothing more than to be loved. Bear will do best with a patient, understanding adopter who will allow him the time and space to continue building confidence at his own pace. In return, he promises loyalty, quiet companionship, and a heart that is learning how to trust again.

If you believe you could be the safe place Bear has been waiting for, please consider applying to adopt him.

Apply to adopt Bear:

https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2612046&name=Bear

Let's make sure the rest of Bear's story is filled with love.
