Bear's Story

Injured, Afraid, and Still Wagging His Tail

Bear is one of our most recent rescues, and when we picked him up, he was badly injured. He's still not putting any weight on his right hind leg and is very fearful and not very handleable yet. His injuries were caused by other dogs before he came to us — not the dogs he is with now. He was kept separately when we rescued him.

When Bear first arrived, he was terrified. He truly believed that everything around him was going to hurt him. And yet... every single day when I go in to care for him, he wags his tail and tries to come greet me.

This boy has the kindest face. You can see it in his eyes — an incredible soul who wants nothing more than to be loved. Despite the pain, despite the fear, Bear is still hoping.

Bear has been seen by our veterinarian, and thankfully his leg is not broken. Injured, Afraid, and Still Wagging His Tail
