What is New Life Rescue, Inc.’s adoption process?

All of our adoptable dogs are either in a foster home or in boarding.  If you are interested in any of our adoptable dogs, please do contact us by emailing or calling the number that is on the post.   We will be happy to make arrangements for a meet and greet. If there is an adoption fee on one of the posts, it is for local to Houston, TX adoption fee only.  Transport fees if any, will be in addition to the fee listed. We do have an adoption contract that would be emailed to you.  New Life Rescue, Inc. only adopts out dogs through our Foster to Adopt Program.  To participate in this program, you would foster the dog for approximately one week.  If the dog is a good match, the adoption process is completed.  If for some reason the dog is not a good match, that dog would be picked up and put back up for adoption.  We have found that many people prefer this as they have a chance to make sure this is the pet for their family and life style. If you have any pets in your home already, they must be spayed or neutered. They must be up to date on their annual vaccinations. We only adopt out dogs that are to be family members. We do not want our rescues to be placed in a back yard as an ornament. Dogs like human companionship. They can be trained to have house manners and to be potty trained. We require that any potential adopter have a fenced yard.

Is Bear good with kids?

Bear is good with kids under the age of 5 and kids over the age of 5.

Is Bear good with other animals?

Bear is good with other dogs. It is not known if Bear is good with cats.

When can I meet Bear?

As soon as the adoption organization has a chance to review your information, they’ll reach out with next steps and timing.

When can I adopt Bear?

Time to adopt varies, but typically adoption organizations require an official application prior to adoption. If you’re a match, they’ll reach out with next steps and timing.
