Bean's Story
Requirements:
-Bean must have another compatible dog in her home similar in size
-If there are children in the home, they must be at least 8 years old and respectful of a dog's boundaries
-Bean's home must have a fully secured fenced yard (no apartments)

Pup-sonality:
Bean is an affectionate and playful Chihuahua looking for her forever home! Bean is a clingy, loving companion who will happily follow you around and curl up on your lap for snuggles.

Bean has a heart of gold and “doesn't have a mean bone in her body”. She is incredibly affectionate, loves giving kisses, and enjoys a good game of fetch. While generally well-behaved, she is very food-motivated and has a knack for jumping on counters, so her new family will need to keep food and small hazards out of reach. She barks occasionally to express jealousy or when she wants a toy, and she does have a habit of chewing on blankets or pencils, so she requires lots of her own chew toys to stay redirected.

Bean handles human touching with ease—you can touch her anywhere, open her mouth, and easily take away toys. She walks beautifully on a leash and does okay at the vet, but who really thrives at the vet? She is comfortable in her crate and will happily sleep in it overnight. Her new family should be aware that she experiences slight anxiety and shaking when traveling in cars, but could be trained to love the car with positive reinforcement and time.

People: She loves known adults and is wonderful with older children, though she hasn't been tested with small kids yet.

Other Pets: She loves other dogs of her size and would thrive in a home with a respectful canine companion to play with. She is currently indifferent to cats, but any feline friends will require a slow, monitored introduction.

House-Training: She is working on her house-training and will sometimes have accidents (pee/poo) if left alone during the day, though she can easily hold it overnight.

Bean is an adorable little soul ready to make your home her own.

Medical Note: Bean received a Pro Heart 12 injection on May7, 2026. Pro Heart 12 protects against heartworm disease for 12 months. She will only require Nexguard each month for flea/tick prevention until April 2027. For May 2027, she will require a new prescription for Nexguard and Heartguard or Advantage Multi for year-round ongoing preventative treatment.

Bean was successfully treated for heartworm disease and must remain on heartworm preventatives year-round for the rest of her life to avoid reinfection.
