BEAN's Story

BEAN is a miniature dachshund/chi...soaking wet he weighs in at 7 lb . He really settles in when he feels comfortable and is a sweet boy. He is very smart and watches his human for signals such as when she gets the leash he knows to sit, stay and allow it to be attached. The best leash for Bean is the expandable for as soon as he hears the click he is ready to take the lead. Once outside he knows exactly why he's there and waste no time taking care of business.
He does like to explore but since its been cold, he's often ready to return inside.
His favorite place inside is snuggling on the sofa wrapped in snuggly warm blankets.
Bean loves attention and loves to meet new people ( if they are female visitors). He sometimes get excited when a newcomer shows up so we just pick him up and hold him til he calms down. It usually takes only a few minutes.
Bean accepts other dogs but doesnt like them overpowering him. A small dog with Bean would be welcome as a friend....but not a dominant one.

His short smooth coat requires only occasional bathing and he does not shed much at all. He loves the donut shape doggie bed we provide...He's a nippler so takes his time at mealtime so he needs to be fed alone ( assuring he gets his food) He loves to snuggle in a humans lap and wants to give neck hugs too. Bean needs a sweater on cold days or a warm home where he can feel comfortable...He would be a great companion to an elderly lady who loves to stay home a lot and be his friend....He is also puppy pad trained which is a plus too.
Our adoption app is on this web site:

https://www.kentuckydachshundrescue.com/adoption-process
