Beacon 's Story

Not long ago, Beacon was living a nightmare in an apartment complex in Mississippi. A video was circulating of him having been beaten by a baseball bat and ran over by a neighbor. We sent our rescue partner out and she found him wandering the complex, looking for a shred of kindness amidst the chaos.

Despite the trauma he has endured, Beacon is a happy, joyful boy! Remarkably, he shows zero resource guarding. He is just happy to share his space and his heart.

He is wonderful with other dogs and has a natural gentleness with children.

Physically, he is a survivor. While he survived the car strike, he does have a luxating patella in his back right knee. We have already started him on high-quality joint supplements to support his mobility, and he will need a family committed to keeping him lean and active (but low-impact!) to keep that knee strong. He is now fully vaccinated, on preventatives, and ready for a fresh start.

Because of his past, Beacon can be understandably shy at first. He doesn’t need a hero; he just needs a best friend who will promise that the world will never be cruel to him again.
