Meet BB (aka Boss Babe)<br/><br/>BB (originally "Big Bertha," but we prefer Boss Babe ) is a 1.5-year-old shepherd/pittie mix (DNA test pending because she likes to keep things mysterious) with a big personality and main-character energy.<br/><br/>She spent over 3 months in shelter and is very ready to be someone's center of attention.<br/><br/>BB can look a little serious at first, but once you get to know her, she's playful, silly, and very engaged with her people.<br/><br/>Her play style is best described as: professional button-pusher. She loves to try to start roughhousing with medium-to-large dogs, and if she gets corrected, she actually takes it well - she'll try again with less intensity, then either wander off or come check in with her human.<br/><br/>She's:<br/><br/> Best suited for medium to large dog friends<br/> Currently small-dog interactions are gated-only due to her enthusiastic play style<br/> Very food and praise motivated<br/> Good for baths and nail trims (a little dramatic, but cooperative)<br/> Not bothered by birds and will chase a running cat, but mostly ignores calm, aloof cats<br/><br/>She's still working on:<br/><br/> Leash manners (strong, excited, and ready to see the world)<br/> Barrier feelings (sometimes hesitant to come inside, barks at dogs behind fences or crates, but settles)<br/> Crate time (goes in, complains briefly, then settles in about 5 minutes)<br/><br/>She may alert bark at people behind barriers, but redirects easily and settles nicely.<br/><br/>BB is not a beginner dog, but for someone who likes training, structure, and a dog with opinions and sparkle, she's going to be a really fun, rewarding companion.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a confident, spicy, Boss Babe who keeps life interesting and gives you a dog to do things with, BB might be your girl.

Effective January 1, 2023 our adoption fees are $325 for dogs over 18 months old, $375 for dogs 18 months and under, and $0 to $180 for senior and medically needy dogs.
