Meet Baxter!<br/><br/>Baxter came from a very sad situation. His owners surrendered him to the Baldwin Park Shelter at 14 years old, extremely overweight with extremely long nails. He was then scheduled to be euthanized there, it's just so sad. <br/><br/>Baxter was saved with an amazing foster where he totally decompressed, had his nails trimmed, learned how to cuddle AND - even started going on walks! Besides a thorough adoption application, we believe a phone call, home check and overall personal relationship with potential adopters is so important. We know that adopting a new family member can be overwhelming, so hand holding and talking through the process with potential adopters is a crucial step. We believe that this allows both the new pet and new family to all feel supported.
