**Meet Baxter 💙**<br/><br/>Baxter’s story is one of survival, resilience, and hope.<br/><br/>As a young puppy, Baxter was rescued from an abusive situation where he was subjected to unimaginable physical abuse and neglect in an attempt to turn him into a “guard dog.” Because of that trauma, Baxter came to our rescue at just 8 months old—and heartbreakingly, we have been the only home he has ever known.<br/><br/>Now a senior gentleman, Baxter has spent his entire life waiting for someone to choose him.<br/><br/>Understandably, Baxter can be fearful of strangers. He does best meeting new people slowly, especially in our play yard where he feels most comfortable and secure. Once he knows you and feels safe, his true personality shines through—he’s a big, silly, goofy boy who loves to enjoy the simple joys of life.<br/><br/>Baxter is looking for a very specific, loving home where he can finally feel at peace:<br/><br/>* A quiet, adult-only home<br/>* An only-pet household<br/>* A fenced yard where he can safely relax and explore<br/>* An experienced adopter willing to take time to build trust through multiple meet-and-greets<br/>* A home where he can be comfortably separated when guests are over, as large groups and new people are overwhelming for him<br/><br/>Baxter doesn’t need a busy life. Protective Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)'s Adoption Policy
We do show our pets by appointment only upon receipt of the online application which can be found here or at kcpaws.org. We are located inside of KCPAWS a doggy daycare and Boarding facility Our adoption fees range from $175 (seniors) to $350 with the average adoption fee being $200 We pride ourselves in our match based adoption process. Upon receiving an approved adoption application, our adoptions counselors will spend quality time with each adopter to ensue that they are getting a pet that will be a perfect fit for their family and life style. All KC PAWS dogs are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and microchipped at the time of adoption. Our adoption kits include a leash and collar, a starter amount of food, and a few toys and treats for your new best friend. We remain a resource to all of our adopted dogs through the remainder of their life. We provide in home training services, as well as 1 month free doggy daycare from the day of adoption. Our pet services are always available to all of our adopted alumni.
