Baxter's Story
Baxter is a local owner surrender who spent his whole life with the same dad. Sadly he had to surrender Baxter when he moved to the Philippines to be will an ill family member.

Baxter is a 5 year old Puggle and a solid dude at 37 pounds (yes, we definitely captured his good angle 😄). He’s currently looking for a family willing to help him slim down a bit and enjoy life at a healthier pace.

This guy is all about his people. Baxter thrives in a home where someone is around more often than not. He adores affection, attention, and being right next to you, especially if that means lounging on the furniture together. Couch privileges are a must in his future home.

Baxter enjoys playtime too! He loves toys and playing ball. He’s used to having a fenced yard and doesn’t quite understand tie outs, so a secure fence is ideal. He prefers his humans to be outside with him.

Baxter is house trained, crate trained, knows how to sit, and is very treat motivated. Training snack = instant best friend! Baxter is dog friendly and would do best in a home without young kids, as he can resource guard high value items. We’re happy to help set his adopters up with management tips and support.

Baxter has a little anxiety, likely related to recent transitions, and has just started fluoxetine to help him settle into his next chapter.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who wants to be where you are, on the couch, in the yard, or tossing a ball, Baxter might just be your guy.

Baxter is neutered, current on vaccines and prevention, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300. To meet him, please submit an application at
www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet.

Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
