Baxter's Story

🎄 Baxter Update! 🎄

Happy holidays, everyone! It’s me, Baxter 🐾

I’m doing awesome in my new foster home. They play with me, take me on walks, and I am absolutely loving every minute of it!
So, let me tell you a little more about myself. I’m about 1 year old, and I am the definition of a typical Boxer—lots of energy, lots of enthusiasm, and I could definitely use a little polishing on my manners. I’m told I’m very good on leash when it’s just you and me, but when I see another dog, I really want to say hello and play, so I may try to pull toward them.

I would love a canine brother or sister to play with! Just know that my play style is very “Boxer”—lots of pawing, boxing moves, and I can get pretty vocal when I’m excited. It’s all in good fun!
Toys and balls are still a bit of a mystery to me, but if you throw something, I’ll happily retrieve it and drop it right back at your feet. My foster family laughs because I have a funny habit: they’ll be sitting on the couch watching TV, and I’ll leave the room and come back carrying a random shoe, dropping it right in the middle of the room. I don’t chew it—I just think they might need it. 😄

After a full day of fun, I’m ready for bed around 9 PM and I sleep straight through the night like a champ.
Now let’s talk food—I am a serious beggar and will counter surf if given the chance. My foster family doesn’t give me human food (they say even dogs with strong stomachs can end up with diarrhea), and they keep the counters clear. But if I get close to a plate or bowl, you’ll definitely see my tongue swinging into action!
Overall, I’m just a great dog—active when you want to be, and a total mush who’s happy to sleep for hours when you are too.
Well, it’s almost TV time, and I need to figure out which shoe I’ll be bringing into the living room tonight…

If you’re interested in Baxter, you must be approved, so please submit your application at 👉 www.njboxerrescue.com

If you have questions or are already approved, contact Barbara at
📧 BarbaraABoxer@gmail.com

Baxter
Age: 1+
Dogs: Yes! Playful and enjoys roughhousing
Cats: Maybe — saw one at the shelter but was more interested in the dog
Kids: 10+ (no history with children)
