Bates's Story
Bates came to SAIN Rescue through Quincy but was originally from Missouri. Unfortunately Bates spent his puppyhood in a few different kill shelters. Dogs can smell the euthansia medication and a kill shelter is no place for any dog let alone a puppy. We believe this is what made Bates's original adjustment to his foster home so hard for him. He was fearful and resisted human contact. After all, when humans touched him, he was then trapped in a kennel. When he first came to us and entered his foster home, he was very timid and fearful but he has adjusted to his foster home. He plays well with his foster sibling and even started to play with his foster parents. He appears to have had a rough start in life as he doesn't seem used to being inside. Bates ran right into the sliding glass door a few times, thinking he was going right outside. He has since learned the door needs to be opened. Although that may seem funny, it is also sad. Bates is a puppy, who seems to spent most or all of his young life in kill shelters. He is acclimating and enjoying the warmth and affection of his foster home. He is fully vetted. If interested in adopting Bates, please go to https://www.sainrescue.org/applications-contact-us/adoption-application/ and complete the adoption application. Applicants must live in Illinois and within about 50 miles from Bartlett.
