Now they are hoping for a second chance and a family of their own.

These puppies are still very young, so they will need families who understand that puppies require patience, consistency, training, socialization, and plenty of time. They are at the perfect age to begin learning good manners and building a strong foundation for the rest of their lives.
The shelter believes they are lab/shepherd mix and will be medium to large size dogs.

Basil is doing great in his foster home, he is doing well with potty training, is crate trained and sleeps through the night. He does good off leash and is very affectionate. His mange (non-contagious kind) is mostly resolved, his sores have healed, now we are waiting for his beautiful coat to grow back!

Age: Approximately 4 months
Gender: Male
Breed: Shepherd/Lab mix
Weight: 35 lbs and growing
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Potty Trained: Almost!
Crate Trained: Yes
Leash Manners: Yes
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Yes
Good with Kids: Yes

These puppies have already had their first big hurdle — getting out of the shelter and into rescue. Now they just need someone to give them the next step: a safe place to land and a family to call their own.

If you are interested in adopting Basil, please apply today!
www.muttlife.org
_________

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, vaccinations, and heart worm prevention (age appropriate). Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.

2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.

3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit.

4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.

5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.

6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, that works too!

**Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
