BASIL<br/>Personality<br/>Basil is a sweet, playful puppy with a confident and adventurous personality. She enjoys being around people and outdoor time, she is the first to want to come in though, and is always ready for a little game or activity. While she can be a little cautious about being picked up, she generally prefers people over avoiding them and is becoming more comfortable every day.<br/>Favorite Activities<br/> • Playing tug-of-war<br/> • Digging in the yard<br/> • Exploring outdoors<br/> • Interactive play with people and other dogs<br/> • Chewing on toys (and anything she thinks should be a toy!)<br/>Training & Progress<br/> • Does very well in a crate<br/> • Settles nicely in a larger pen setup -<br/> • Learning daily routines and meal schedules<br/> • Learning to come when called<br/> • Learning basic commands, including "sit"<br/> • Has good food manners and waits respectfully during feeding time<br/>Food & Motivation<br/> • Very food motivated<br/> • Enjoys mealtime and quickly learns routines involving food<br/>Things to Know<br/> • Basil is an enthusiastic chewer.<br/> • She prefers med/harder objects and often chooses items larger than typical puppy toys.<br/> • Shoes, cords, and similar household items should be kept out of reach for now, she can be destructive. <br/> • She redirects well to appropriate toys but will need continued supervision as she matures. She is sneaky. <br/> • While she is playful and energetic, she is generally calmer than Clover.<br/> • Can be slightly hesitant about being picked up but usually allows handling without much fuss.<br/>Potty training- she is slower in the house, but she is also bout potty pad trained in her pen. <br/>Other Pets<br/> • Enjoys being around dogs.<br/> • she is unsure about cats, and barks at them, though her long-term compatibility with cats is not totally clear. My cats can be friendly, but tend to avoid the dogs, so they don't want much to do with her when she barks at them, we've done some introduction, but the cats don't like to be barked at. <br/>Ideal Home<br/>Basil would thrive with a family committed to providing plenty of appropriate chew outlets, enrichment activities, and continued training. This little has some smarts and she is trainable. She would enjoy a busy home while also appreciating time to relax after play sessions<br/> <br/><br/>Current on DHPPV vaccinations, deworming, and microchipped.<br/><br/>Adoption Fee: $350
