Meet Bart

Bart is a special needs senior looking for a very special home. When Bart came to FARM it didn’t take long for us to figure out just how special he is. Bart is both blind and deaf. He also has what’s known as short snout syndrome which means he breaths very loud. At 11 years old Bart’s favorite activity is napping and eating. This boy LOVES to eat. His home requirements include no steps or the ability to block steps off so he doesn’t fall and a nice soft bed that will stay in the same spot forever so he always knows where it is. He will take about 2 weeks to to settle into a new home and learn his new environment. He might not be able to see or hear but he can smell and always knows when it’s dinner time. Also, his voice works and he isn’t shy about using it when he wants something. If you are looking for a senior snuggly, snorty pug Bart is your guy.

If you are interested in Bart, or any other FARM dog, please submit an application for review by our Adoption Committee. Meet and greets for approved adopters will be by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a dog application which can be found at http://fallstonanimalrescue.org/adopt/ and e-mail it to fallstonrescue@aol.com

It can take up to 2 weeks to process an application; we suggest following up by email on the status if you have not received a reply within 3-5 days. We are an all-volunteer based rescue and we ask for your patience if we are slow to respond.

Please understand that we fit the dog with the home we feel is best suited and will accept multiple applications for one dog. We have strict requirements for families with children under 10 since many of our dogs are grumpy and may not do well with children. Some dogs will have fence requirements, while others may not. It is preferred you are within a 2 hour drive from our Rescue Center in Fallston, MD and preference will be given to local applicants.

A pet is a lifetime commitment and it is our duty to do our very best to place them correctly the first time around. We do not take the adoption process lightly. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
