Barron's Story
Meet Barron, a handsome Golden Retriever estimated to be around 3 years old. Barron is a very sweet and silly boy who is still figuring out what it means to be loved, spoiled, and treated like a beloved family member.
We’re not sure much about Barron’s previous life, but it seems possible that he spent a lot of his time as an outdoor dog. Because of that, he has a few things to learn about being an indoor companion and all the wonderful things that come with being part of a family. But he is a smart boy and is ready to learn!
Barron already knows “sit” and “paw,” and he is VERY motivated by food. Barron is a high-energy boy who loves getting outside and having fun. One of his favorite activities is rolling around in mud puddles — because apparently being clean is overrated! The good news is that Barron does great for his baths afterward, so he doesn’t mind getting cleaned up after his adventures. Barron would do best as the only dog in the home. He can be protective of his toys and bones, so he would also prefer a home without young children. His ideal family will be willing to give him structure, continued training, exercise, and plenty of positive reinforcement while helping him learn appropriate boundaries. Despite needing a little guidance, Barron is an incredibly sweet boy with a goofy personality. He has lots of energy, lots of love to give, and so much potential to become an amazing companion. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, active dog and are willing to help Barron learn all about the good life, he may be the Golden boy you’ve been waiting for! Barron has spent enough time figuring life out on his own. Now he’s ready to learn what it feels like to truly be someone’s dog.

Please copy and paste the link below to fill out our Matchmaker Adoption Application so we may arrange a meet and greet for you!

https://www.brookhavenny.gov/152/Animal-Shelter
