Everything about him feels soft and gentle—and his heart matches perfectly.<br/><br/>Weighing in at around 30 pounds, Barley is the perfect in-between size for both cuddles and adventures. He came to us from a hoarding situation, scared and unsure, having never truly known care or love. Since then, he has blossomed into a silly, sweet, and playful boy who adores his people and loves making new friends.<br/><br/>He may be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take long for Barley’s goofy personality to shine. Once he feels safe, he’s all about affection, companionship, and showing off his charming, playful side.<br/><br/>Barley loves being outside—sometimes so much that he’d prefer to stay out forever! But he’s a good listener and continues to make great progress every day. He enjoys chew bones, toys of all kinds, and most of all, being close to his people. He’s a cuddly, Velcro-type pup who will happily lay at your feet while you work or curl up on the couch for some quiet downtime. And yes—he loves to sneak in kisses whenever he can.<br/><br/>This smart boy picks up on routines and expectations quickly. He crates on command, walks nicely on leash, settles in well, and does a great job reading the room—whether it’s time to play or relax.<br/><br/>Barley will need another dog in his forever home, as he gains confidence from having a canine companion and truly thrives with a friend by his side.
