He enjoys being near his people and would be perfect for someone looking for a calm, constant companion. He has no apparent preference between men and women and has accepted both equally.<br/><br/>Barkley can bark and may occasionally give a little growl, but this is simply his way of communicating. He is not snippy or aggressive. He is also easy to handle for grooming and veterinary care and does not require muzzling, which is a wonderful trait for a senior Chow.<br/><br/>Barkley is neutered, house trained, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccinations.<br/><br/>After everything Barkley has been through, we are looking for a truly committed adopter who understands that he is a senior dog and promises to never give up on him.
