Through no fault of his own, Barkley found himself alone in a shelter after losing the only home and person he had known for a decade. <br/><br/>Today, Barkley is looking for someone committed to giving him the stability and love he deserves for the rest of his life.<br/><br/>Barkley is a laid-back couch potato and wonderful companion who mostly sleeps during the day. He enjoys being near his people and would be perfect for someone looking for a calm, constant companion. He has no apparent preference between men and women and has accepted both equally.<br/><br/>Barkley can bark and may occasionally give a little growl, but this is simply his way of communicating. He is not snippy or aggressive. He is also easy to handle for grooming and veterinary care and does not require muzzling, which is a wonderful trait for a senior Chow.<br/><br/>Barkley is neutered, house trained, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccinations.<br/><br/>After everything Barkley has been through, we are looking for a truly committed adopter who understands that he is a senior dog and promises to never give up on him.
