Barkley's Story

Meet Barkley!
4 years old
Neutered
95lbs
Up to date on vaccines

Barkley is the sweetest, silliest hound boy. He loves to snuggle and lay his giant head on your lap. He will melt you with his big brown eyes and floppy face. And his ears are like velvet! He loves to follow you around and lay near you while you do anything around the house or the yard. He is mostly low energy and happy lounging, but a few times a day he gets a burst of energy and wants to run and play. He would really love a fenced in yard to play in!

He loves the company of another dog, but would also be ok as a solo pet! When he plays with other dogs he can be a little pushy, as the old grumpy dog he lives with in his foster home doesnt appreciate the full contact play that Barkley is seeking.

Barkley loves to play with toys! He will throw and run after a ball, playing fetch all on his own. It is hilarious to watch!

He is gentle with kids and is fostered with kids 5-13 and gets along well with all of them! Kids under 5 may find him a little too big and his strong tail might knock them over! But he doesnt mean to be SO excited that his tail takes over! That thing is constantly wagging, showing how truly happy and loving he is!

He walks really nicely on a harness, even though he is very strong. He knows how to sit, and listens to drop it when he has a toy. Hes mostly quiet too, which is impressive for a hound! Barkley will give a low bark or howl when he sees the neighbor in the yard, but doesnt go on and on about it.

Mostly he LOVES his people and wants to have them around as much as possible! Barkley could be the perfect companion for a single person, or a family- maybe someone who works from home so he can have his people close by most often.

He has a lot of love to give and cant wait to settle into his forever home!

Interested in adopting? Please apply at www.rescuers call.org. We will review all applications and reach out. Questions? Please email rascalsintake@gmail.com.
