Baretta's Story

Hi, my name is Baretta!

I’m a young German Shorthair Pointer mix with TONS of energy! I could seriously run ALL DAY. I’m also potty trained! I have lived with other dogs and I’m familiar with kitties. However, ever since my sister was adopted, I’ve not been able to make any friends. I would be an incredible only dog. I promise you’re the only friend I need!

I’m super incredibly smart and want to go to a home that’s dedicated to putting me through training so that I can learn all of my manners and all of the tricks! I think that I would graduate at the top of my class!
But, the shelter really stresses me out... I want to go home, yesterday! If you’re into smart, bouncy, and happy-go-lucky dogs come in to meet me. You could take me home just in time for the holidays.

She recently went on a Dog Day Out with a couple of our volunteers. Here's what they had to say:
"Baretta! She was a little nervous with us at first and still startled by loud noises or sudden movements during the walk. But once she warmed up, she revealed the sweet and playful personality the caring HSH staff had described! On her walk, she showed wonderful manners—calm and non-reactive around small animals, never pulling or getting overly excited. Baretta is also incredibly smart; her quick learning will make training both fun and fulfilling for her adopter. With her gentle nature and eagerness to learn, she’s sure to be a loving, loyal companion!"
---
This chocolate-colored beauty is big and friendly. At about 11 months old, she is still learning what to do with her size. Her tail will definitely give you a good thumping, and she wants to jump up to give you hugs.
We know she has lived with another female dog and a cat.

Female
1 year old
71 lbs

----------------
Hours: 11am-7pm Tuesdays & Fridays
11am-4pm all other days
No appointments required

Disclaimer: Please only use our website (https://www.hshobart.org/adopt/adoptable-animals) to apply for pets.
