He loves to retrieve and has an impressive recall to both his name and a whistle. He enjoys his Kong toys and plushies and is perfectly happy keeping himself entertained.<br/> <br/>There's something special about Banjo's mix of youthful curiosity and old-soul manners. He'll follow you around, investigating life like a curious young pup, then settle beside you and quietly occupy himself like an old dog who already knows the good stuff is simply being near his people.<br/> <br/>He is good with other dogs and cats, and friendly and playful with adults. He has not been around children, so that part of his story is still unwritten. Banjo would love a home where he can play, retrieve, explore, and then settle in close to his people. He is housebroken, crate trained, well-mannered, and ready to be someone's loyal companion.<br/> <br/>Most importantly, Banjo is not being surrendered because of anything he has done wrong. He was originally found as a stray and spent some time in a shelter before being adopted. Unfortunately, his family is no longer able to care for him. His current owner has generously agreed to foster him temporarily, but he will need a new place to land before September 12th. <br/> <br/>Banjo has already had a few changes in his life. Now he's looking for the final verse—a home where he can put down roots and stay. Banjo is ready. He's got the rhythm, he's got the manners, and he's got a whole lot of love left to give.<br/> <br/>Currently fostered in Kokomo, Indiana — but he needs a new foster or forever home before September 12.<br/><br/>*******<br/>Adopting a Lab can be a wonderful experience. Your new dog will need lots of love, adequate exercise and attention. Keep in mind that dog ownership may include additional costs for training, grooming, and health care beyond annual vaccines and monthly preventatives. It's a lifetime commitment!
