Banjo's Story

🐾 Introducing Banjo! 🐾

Banjo is happiest wherever his humans are. He can frequently be found stretched out beside his foster family on the couch because anywhere his people are is exactly where he wants to be! He is incredibly affectionate and loves hugs, ear scratches, nuzzling and soaking up every bit of attention you are willing to give him.

After spending his first year of life with what was likely very little attention, structure or guidance, Banjo has made incredible progress. He has learned how to walk nicely on a leash, settle in his kennel and sleep through the night. He is also highly food-motivated and continues learning what is food, what is definitely not food and why inhaling every meal may not be the best approach. 😂

Now that Banjo has made it through heartworm treatment and is no longer medicated, his playful personality and energy are shining through. Like many hounds, Banjo is intelligent, curious, energetic and always ready to follow his nose. He needs an adopter who understands hounds and will appreciate everything that makes them so wonderfully unique. His ideal family will provide consistent structure and plenty of mental stimulation through training, enrichment activities, puzzle toys and new experiences.

Banjo gets plenty of “What a handsome dog!” compliments—and they aren’t wrong! He is a loving, loyal boy who has worked hard to learn how to be part of a family. With continued guidance, enrichment and plenty of affection, Banjo will make someone the perfect faithful companion. 💙

🐶 Interested in adopting Banjo?
