Banjo's Story

At just 5 months old, this shepherd x pup has already faced more than his fair share of hardship. Banjo is currently being treated for mange, but don’t let that fool you—he’s on the road to a healthier, happier life, and his spirit has never been broken.

Despite his rough start, Banjo is pure sunshine. His tail never stops wagging, his heart is wide open, and he greets every day (and every new friend) with excitement and trust. He’s super sweet, gentle, and makes friends easily with both people and other dogs. Honestly? He just wants to love and be loved.

Banjo is dreaming of a family who will see past his tough beginning and into the amazing dog he’s becoming—one who will put time into training, patience into his healing, and a whole lot of love into his future. In return, you’ll get a loyal best friend who will adore you endlessly.

This little guy has already proven how strong and forgiving he is. Now all he needs is someone to choose him.Could that be you?

Banjo is ready to start the next chapter of his life—with a family of his own. 💕 🐶

Please help us find Banjo his forever family by sharing his story.

Peace River SPCA's Adoption Policy
We require an adoption application to be filled out for every animal before they can be adopted! If there is a specific animal you are interested in adding to your family please call us at 1-780-624-3633 and we would be happy to answer any questions! We offer trials as well! A trial is where you can take the furry friend you have been approved for home for up to 2 weeks to make sure that everything is a good fit before fully adopting them! A lot of our animals have come to us as strays so we don't have background information about many of the animals we have here with us, so we always encourage doing a trial before fully adopting just to make sure everyone can adjust to each other as it can be very stressful for some of them to leave the shelter and go to a new environment!
