People still ask me if Banjo is a puppy. Even at 8 he still has some of the puppy look & body language. <br/><br/>Banjo is a small 30 pound brindle, deeply affectionate dog who has been well loved and who needs a quieter home than his current family can give him. I’m sad to have to rehome him, but we have a small home and are expecting a second baby soon.<br/><br/>Banjo’s ideal day is chilling, spending some time with his person and a couple of good walks with interesting smells. He’s good on leash, does well with other dogs, knows his basic commands, and is crate & house trained. He is also responsive to treats & training. <br/><br/>He needs an experienced home though. He had a rough start before being rescued and has a bite history that needs to be taken seriously. His main trigger has been hands in his space when he's frightened, and his last bite was nearly three years ago. Since then he has been in the care of a board-certified veterinary behaviorist, who prescribed medication and changes to his training and routine that have helped a lot. Banjo wears a muzzle in potentially stressful situations and requires a confident owner to help him through challenging moments. He has never shown any aggression towards the child in his home, but as he is getting older a mature calm home is better suited.<br/><br/>He has a managed sleep-related seizure disorder (medication) and allergies (medication & diet), and is in the care of a veterinary neurologist and dermatologist for those. His current owner is willing to help with medical costs for the right placement.<br/><br/>Day to day, he's easy. He mostly just wants to chill near you while you get on with things.
