Bandit's Story

BANDIT NEEDS A FOSTER OR ADOPTER ASAP!!! Bandit is a very sweet 6 month old Lab puppy who is not in a safe environment and is in immediate need of an adopter or foster home. Bandit's owner is moving and abandoning him & will not take him so a concerned neighbor reached out to Long Road Home asking us to help find this adorable puppy a safe place to land. An adopter would be great but a Foster would be fine too until he finds his forever home. Bandit loves adults and kids and gets along great with other dogs. He loves to play fetch and give lots of love. Bandit is vaccinated but not neutered yet. Please be part of Bandit's rescue story and help save his life and give him a chance for a happy life. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com or 516-459-3509) for lots more information and ask how you can help him!

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes.   What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
