Bandera's Story

Bandera is a 2-year-old male dog with a very lovable personality and a wiggly, happy nature that makes him hard not to adore. He takes treats gently and enjoys interacting with people, though he does have a tendency to jump up in his excitement. He will likely need a refresher on potty training and crate training as he adjusts to a new home, but with consistency and patience, he should do well. So far, he has not shown any signs of dog aggression, and his sweet, friendly demeanor makes him a great companion for a home ready to help him continue learning and thriving. He has received his DHPP vaccine and Bordetella. He is pending heartworm testing, a microchip, and neuter.

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.
