Banana's Story

Meet Banana 🍌🤍

Banana is approximately 2½ years old and has already survived more than most dogs ever should. She is spayed, up-to-date with her vaccines and microchip!

She first came into a shelter in Texas after losing a fight with a porcupine, leaving her unable to see because of all the quills in her face. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, she was hit by a car. Once she made it to safety, she still had to go through heartworm treatment—which she completed like an absolute champion.

Her pelvis and legs had already started healing incorrectly before she could receive care, and doctors decided surgery would do more harm than good. Because of that, Banana will always be a little “gimpy.” She limps sometimes, runs hilariously funny, gets tired quicker than other dogs, and needs help getting into beds or vehicles. She can’t really stand on her back legs well, but honestly she has adapted better than most humans would. She’ll literally drag herself onto the couch using only her front legs because she’s determined to be wherever her people are 😂

Despite everything she’s been through, Banana is HAPPY. She does not let her limitations stop her from living life to the fullest.

She’s potty trained, crate trained, knows commands (when she feels like listening 😅), and is extremely dog friendly with proper introductions. She can be timid and shy at first, but once she trusts you, she becomes the ultimate Velcro dog. She HAS to be touching her humans at all times. She’s obsessed with cuddles, gives endless kisses, and gets dramatically jealous if she’s not the center of attention.

She also makes the weirdest dinosaur noises imaginable when she wants attention or breakfast. Seriously… no dog should sound like this 😂

Banana is incredibly food motivated, loves enrichment activities, and absolutely needs tough toys because she is a professional-level super chewer. She plays hard, loves hard, and lives life with the funniest, happiest spirit despite everything her body has been through. And can we talk about her adorable little underbite?! Because I’m obsessed.

DNA results:• 70% Pittie• 22.6% Supermutt (Chow, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Husky, Boston Terrier)• 7.4% German Shepherd

Banana is not a “perfect” dog on paper. She’s quirky. She’s clingy. She’s loud. She’s a little broken, physically. But she is one of the most resilient, loving, hilarious dogs I have ever met.

She just needs someone willing to see how special she really is. 🖤

Adoption fee – $300
Apply here!
https://form.jotform.com/243286285564163
