Banana's Story
Banana – A Survivor Searching for a Second Chance

Banana shouldn’t have lived through what she’s been through. This tiny, 30-pound pocket pittie was found wandering the streets of Dallas, broken and alone, in an area known for dog fighting rings. Based on her injuries and her gentle, submissive nature, it's heartbreakingly clear she was used as a bait dog. Her body tells a story of pain no animal should ever endure—scars that will never fully fade, and eyes that have seen too much too soon.

At just about 1 year old, Banana has already had a litter of puppies. She’s barely out of puppyhood herself, yet she’s carried more weight than most dogs ever will. And now, she carries another burden—being a black dog. It may sound strange, but Black Dog Syndrome is real. Time and again, black-coated dogs are overlooked in shelters and rescues, passed by simply because of the color of their fur.

But Banana is so much more than her scars or her coat. She is living, breathing proof of resilience. Despite everything, she still wags her tail. She still leans in for love. She still believes that people can be kind.

Banana is amazing with other dogs, is crate trained, potty trained, and simply wants to be near her people. Because of her traumatic past, we believe Banana would do best in a home with older children only and no cats. She deserves a peaceful, understanding home where she can feel completely safe.

What she wants most is what she’s never had: a quiet, safe place to rest her head, a human who sees her worth, and a home where she’ll never be used, hurt, or forgotten again.

She may not be the dog who grabs your attention first. But if you take a moment to really see Banana—to look into her soulful eyes—you’ll find a dog who is ready to give all of her heart to someone who will love her back.

If you’re the person who believes that the ones who’ve suffered the most deserve the softest place to land, Banana is waiting for you.

To learn more or meet her, please contact her foster directly:
Call or text: 972-740-1742
Email: fambroughmary6@gmail.com

Banana has survived the worst. Now she just needs someone to show her the best.
