BAN's Story

MEET OLD MAN BAN!

Ban is somewhere around 8-10 years old and was found outside of Philadelphias animal control shelter. Were not sure if he was abandoned there or first picked up as a stray or what, but Ban spent several weeks in the shelter waiting for someone to come for him. When that didnt happen, we happily welcomed him to the rescue!

Ban has been nothing but an upbeat, joyful dog who has settled into his foster home seamlessly. He checks all of the boxes dog, cat and kid-friendly, housebroken, crate trained, goofy, affectionate, and more. Hes currently in foster care with all three. Bans days now mostly consist of equal parts play and naptime. Hes happy to quietly chew a bone on his bed or romp around with his younger dog foster sibling in the yard. He also loves to lay around while his foster dad works in the garage and is always up for a trip to the hardware store. Car rides (even better: truck rides) are his favorite! You can either find him snoozing in the sun in the driveway or curled up like a burrito on the couch.

So if youre looking for an easy addition, a dog who doesnt mind chilling or going for an adventure and who will remind you that age is but a number, Ban might be your man!

Ban has received a full veterinary workup since coming to the rescue including a dental and surgery to remove several masses. All were benign but one which came back as a low-grade mast cell tumor with clean margins so the risk or recurrence is low but not impossible. Hes an otherwise healthy, bouncy guy.

Ban is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Interested in adopting him?
