He is calm, affectionate, and unusually well-mannered for a young husky. He carries himself with a steady, thoughtful presence and connects easily with people. Balto enjoys being close to his humans, seeks out affection, and happily accepts belly rubs and quiet companionship.<br/><br/>Balto is kind and responds well to redirection. His attentive, people-focused nature makes him an excellent candidate for continued training, and he has many qualities that could make him a wonderful therapy dog with the right handler and guidance.<br/><br/>Balto is currently being assessed by our canine behavior partners at CNY Canine Academy, where his temperament, social skills, and overall behavior are being evaluated to help ensure the best possible match for his future home.<br/><br/>He does well with other dogs and enjoys social interaction. He has been cat tested and was respectful and read and responded appropriately to the cat's social cues.<br/><br/>Balto is looking for a home that values a dog with a calm presence, a kind heart, and a deep desire to belong. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe.<br/><br/>Keep in Mind:<br/>We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible.
