Meet Baloo

PERSONALITY: Woof...it's me....Baloo! I'm looking for a special home that knows all about large breeds - as I am a big strong boy - and is comfortable working with my behavioural needs. These needs include dog and human reactivity and I also like to guard my food.
Not to toot my own horn, but I'm a veryyyy handsome and happy boy. I love hanging with the hoomans at the shelter who care for me and getting lots of pets and treats. I have lots of energy, can be rude and vocal when I meet new people. I need to be reminded to be slow, careful, gentle and remember my manners. I try my best to listen, as I am eager to please but it's definitely a skill I'm working on.
What about other doggo friends? Hmmm... I'm not a big fan of other boys. I'm also picky about which girls I like to hang out with. I like the ladies who are confident, and strong (like me!). So for right now I would prefer a home where I can be the only pet as I want to be the king of the castle.
From what my hoomans here tell me, I need a calm/confident person (no small hoomans please) who is comfortable with a strong boy like me and can handle my rude outbursts with dogs and new people. I would do best in a home with only one or two hoomans - I get overwhelmed by lots of people and tend to misbehave. I love my food and will guard it with a passion, and am told that it is not a good thing, so I need someone to show me how I should act around my food. They have also called me naughty because sometimes I'm gentle and then I trick them and become overly playful....woopsy. Because of this I need a home with no small/children hoomans - 16 years old and up please.
I really love a structured daily routine where my hooman gives me boundaries and rules cuz then I know exactly what to do. If you can work with me, I can work with you.
LIKES: Lots of playtime!
DISLIKES: Having my food taken away from me.
