Bailey's Story
Meet Bailey: A Gentle Soul Ready for a Fresh Start

At 3 years old and 52lbs, Bailey spent nearly eight months waiting at North Central shelter before entering foster care with Dog Coalition in June. During her time at the shelter, she became a playgroup "rock star," known for her gentle, dainty play style and friendly, social nature. Bailey enjoyed greeting other dogs, engaging in occasional play, and showing everyone what a sweet, easygoing girl she is.

Bailey has been making wonderful progress as she adjusts to life outside the shelter. After spending so many months in a kennel, the world felt overwhelming at first, and she was understandably anxious around loud noises and unfamiliar situations. With patience and a predictable routine, Bailey's confidence has grown each day. She has learned to consistently potty outside, settles comfortably in her crate, and happily follows her foster family's daily routine. Bailey loves getting to explore on her daily walks around the neighborhood with her foster siblings. She also enjoys relaxing in the sunshine and has begun showing her playful side with happy tail wags, affectionate kisses, and gentle invitations to play.

Bailey gets along well with other dogs and has been steadily building confidence through structured introductions and pack walks. She has shown appropriate interactions with dogs of all sizes, including her foster's senior Chihuahua, and continues to become more comfortable each day. She would thrive in a calm, patient home that can provide structure, consistency, and positive encouragement as she continues to blossom. Because Bailey can still be startled by loud noises and sudden movements, a peaceful environment with adopters who understand the importance of letting her build confidence at her own pace would be an ideal fit.

What You Should Know About Bailey:

- sweet 3-year-old, 52lb shepherd mix looking for a forever family to help her continue gaining confidence and enjoying the life she deserves
- medium energy, gentle, affectionate, and eager to learn
- would be a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys daily walks, a predictable routine, and watching a deserving dog blossom into her best self

To meet Bailey, please fill out an adoption form on dogcoalitionla.org/adopt and follow her foster @olderdogfoster and @dogcoaltionla for updates!
