Bailey's Story

Baily was found as a stray in the Houston area with an eye extremely affected by glaucoma. Her finders reached out to ABRL and we agreed to take this girl into our rescue program. Shortly after her arrival Baily had to have her right eye removed. She did great with the surgery and recovery but shortly afterwards, she lost the vision in her left eye. It had to be removed as well. Bailey has healed from both her surgeries and ready for a new home.

Baily is about 4 years old. She is cropped and docked. She is a small Bouvier, only 50 pounds so she is perfect for the Bouvier lover who can no longer manage a 100 pound dog. Found as a stray already afflicted with glaucoma, we have no information on her background. Bailey has learned to maneuver her foster home and yard. She gets along well with her foster siblings, both male and female. She can be a snuggle bug and enjoys sleeping in the bed at night. She is crate trained but no longer crated at night or when her foster parents go out. However, she has recently gotten really comfortable and started to chew on a few things (like a TV remote and a wallet), so it might be best to crate her until she can be trusted. She likes to play with both humans and dogs. She does sometimes get a little overly excited with the humans and does not realize she might be nibbling a little too hard. We are working on that.

Bailey is being fostered in Dallas, TX.

If you would like to know more about or to adopt Bailey, please fille out an adoption application at abrl.org, and someone will reach out to discuss next steps.
