Baggins's Story
Name: Baggins
Breed: Spaniel Mix
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 2.5 years
Weight: 24 lbs
Animal Number: 4404

Affectionate, Happy, Sweet, Energetic

Good with dogs? Baggins used to live with many other dogs and does well with the other dogs in his foster home, although he has a bit of a herding and nipping instinct towards the large resident dog in his foster home that can be managed with ease. He also met and did well with a 160 lb elderly dog, and the two comfortably ignored each other. He is vocal when meeting other dogs on leash or through a fence.

Good with cats? Not Tested

Good with kids? Baggins was shy at first when he met 2 and 4 year old kids, then approached them cautiously and allowed them to pet him.

Energy level: Medium. He loves taking walks, playing with his foster brother, playing with rope toys, and playing independently with stuffed toys. More than anything, he loves to snuggle up with his people and give kisses!

Medical needs: Baggins is recovering from surgery to heal a leg deformity and torn ligament. Hes busy healing during the month of June, and his walks need to be limited to only 5-10 minutes, every other day. Hes expected to make a full recovery! He is nervous about going to veterinary appointments and takes sedatives before vet visits.

Animal Characteristics: Baggins is an affectionate, sweet, happy, energetic pup who wants to shower his people with love! He wants to please and thinks the spot next to you on the couch or on your lap is the best possible place to be! He is good when riding in a car, does not need to be crated, and is completing his potty training. Baggins knows the command sit and is ready to learn more, since he loves to make his people happy! Hes shy when he first meets new people, then warms up. Like all young dogs, he will benefit from continued training and socialization. He is quiet other than barking when someone new comes to his home or he sees new dogs. Sweet, lovable Baggins was rescued from a hoarding/overcrowding situation, but has not let his rough start in life keep him down at all! Hes very ready for his loving forever home!

Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process.
