Meet Baggins! This charming little character weighs 25 pounds and is around a year old. Despite the adventure (or misadventures perhaps) it took for Baggins to get here, he’s ready for the adventure of a lifetime — in pursuit of his forever family!

Housebreaking, Crate-Training, and Commands

Baggins is already house-trained – no accidents! He’s also crate-trained, though sometimes begrudgingly. He needs coaxing in (a tasty treat for example) and sometimes barks or whines if he gets crated during the day and can see you having fun out there without him. That said, he does great in his crate overnight, quickly settling in and keeping his crate clean. Other than working on his “crate” command, Baggins is learning “down,” “leave it,” and “wait,” and has already mastered “sit!”

Behavior around other Dogs, Cats, and Kids

Baggins is submissive around other dogs and is very friendly and playful. He lives with other foster dogs and loves playing with them. He would even make a great dog park dog. Baggins is so friendly that he thinks even his feline acquaintances would like to play with him (though he is sadly mistaken). It doesn’t stop him from trying though! Baggins would do best in a home with dog-savvy cats (or no cats). Baggins has been around kids of various ages and so far has done very well around them. Whoever it is that happens to be that is doling out the love and affection, Baggins is a happy guy!

Behavior around People

Baggins loves people and rolls over on his back to present his belly in case anyone would like to rub it. He is happy for affection in all forms without demanding it. You might find him hard to resist!

Exercise Needs

Baggins, like any other young hounddog, needs and craves mental stimulation. He currently gets lots of playtime with his foster siblings for an hour or more each day. He would otherwise probably enjoy long walks and/or regular dog park outings to play with friends and to sniff all the smells there!

Baggins is a happy-go-lucky little fella with the cutest hound ears and the most charming personality. Interested in going on a lifelong adventure with Baggins? Contact us today!
