Miraculously, Barbie was found in an orchard with her two sisters at barely 6 weeks of age. They must not have been there long before they were discovered and we are endlessly grateful to their rescuers. All puppies are sweet, but these ones are extra.<br/><br/>Backwoods Barbie has a very playful spirit and lots of energy, but she’s also on the soulful side. She loves to wrestle with her bigger sister Dolly and she can be quite dramatic at times. We have no idea who their parents are but we estimate they will be about 10 pounds full grown. At about 7 to 8 weeks they are just 3 1/2 pounds.<br/><br/>Barbie will see an ophthalmologist very soon to get a better understanding of why her eyes are whitish blue. Her vision seems to be just fine. She’s got the most gorgeous coloring behind her ears and on her back, almost like a dark wolf coat. We think she’ll have medium length hair when she grows up. If her eyes stay this color, she will be the most majestic looking creature. A little tiny Chihuahua wolf.<br/><br/>Puppies require a high level of physical stamina on the part of the adopter for training, frequent housebreaking, managing intense energy levels, and yes, often, running after them. Additionally, because dogs under one year of age have a potential lifespan of 12 to 15+ years, we look closely at the long-term lifestyle match over the course of the puppy's lifetime.
