Bacca's Story
PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT MASSPAWS. SEE CONTACT INFORMATION BELOW FOR THIS SPECIAL PUP.

For all the singles out there, my name is Bacca and I’ll get straight to the point. I need a home STAT! I am making this plea because my opposing Jekyll and Hyde settings are a bit much for my current family.

Setting #1 is like Toto, as in cute, small, smart, playful, and affectionate. You know, the oohs and aahs type. I adore toys, being outside, and especially cuddling with my person. My trainer, who I absolutely love, says I am a really good boy.

Then there’s Setting #2, which is more like a rabid Toto. I get possessive over things and guard my person. I was doing a great job with training and overcoming the fear and uncertainty I had from living on the streets as a puppy. I was living large, making great progress and learning how to feel safe again!

Then wham! Big changes in my home environment caused my fears to come back and haunt me. I found myself growling, barking, guarding, and even biting when I cannot calm down. Not hard, but I left my mark!! I started to guard my daddy from my mommy, which is why I’ve learned that I do best as a one-person dog. I'm better with my trainer because she knows how to disengage and calm me right down. That’s all I need to help me. I will soon learn you are my protector and not the other way around.

I live in the city, which isn’t good for the chi of this chi mix. There are too many sights and sounds, and too many people all around. I am very sensitive and find the hubbub of urban life exhausting and confusing.

I need a reboot! I yearn for a quiet home with a single person without kids or other pets. I need someone with experience and understanding of the challenges I currently have, but also the insight to know I’ll shine once again. I really want to be my best and I’m sure I’ll get back on track!

My trainer is happy to help with my adoption and transition. She’ll have many helpful suggestions, but please use them. Given time and patience, the happy, loving, faithful companion in me will no longer be hidden by fear. I may never be a “go anywhere, meet everyone” dog, but I will be your dog - loyal, connected, and full of love.
Yours truly,
Bacca xo
