BABYGIRL*'s Story

CENSUS DEADLINE CLOSE OF BUSINESS Monday 11/9/2026 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION OR FOSTER Name: Babygirl Animal ID: A906958 Age: 4yrs Weight: 45.20lbs Web Link: https://24petconnect.com/PimaAdoptablePets/Details/PIMA/A906958 About: Babygirl is a bubbly lady looking for an active home. This shelter favorite has big energy, a big personality, and a big heart full of love to share with her future family!! Here’s what some of her friends at the shelter have said: “I have walked Babygirl several times. On our most recent walk, she seemed more relaxed. I asked her to sit a couple of times, and she did. She also took treats gently from me.” “Babygirl was go, go, go in the yard. I wish I had just an ounce of her energy! She ran around exploring and curiously checking everything out. She looked happy as could be to be moving about. As an active girl, I would bet that shed love to join someone on a run or hike.” “Babygirl was very excited that I was going to take her for a walk. She was easy to leash. She was very happy to take treats and took them gently. Babygirl is an energetic girl!” “Babygirl has a lot of energy. She was easy to leash and then ready to go for a run, but she settled for a brisk walk around the big lake. It was hot and humid, and she was quite ready to return to her kennel and cool off. She knows sit and takes treats gently.” Ask to meet Babygirl today!! Available for foster care (30+ days) or adoption through PACC. Interested parties: Must visit PACC before the COB Monday November 9th, 2026 deadline to meet with a counselor who will review notes and introduce you to the dog to ensure that it’s a good fit. Some dogs may also require an introduction to any dogs they may potentially live with. Home Management Plan 1)Recommend Dog Introduction: • If you have other dogs in the home, we recommend arranging a controlled introduction prior to adoption to ensure compatibility and reduce stress for all pets. • Reason: stiff with greeting, conflict driven, and assertive in playgroup 2)Dog Introduction Required With Small Dogs: • Reason: size difference • Slow, Structured Introductions: Introductions must be gradual and carefully managed in neutral territory. Monitor all body language closely, and end sessions on a positive note. • Muzzle Training: It is recommended to condition Babygirl to a comfortable basket muzzle before introductions. This provides safety and allows for positive experiences during early meetings. • No Dog Parks: Babygirl should not attend dog parks or other uncontrolled environments. These settings can overwhelm or trigger negative interactions, making progress more difficult. • Behaviors could improve with proper management and/or professional training. 3) • Babygirl has begun to decline behaviorally in the shelter environment due to ongoing stress or overstimulation. This may present as increased reactivity, withdrawal, or sensitivity. • Decompression Needed: Once in a home, they will need dedicated time and patience to decompress and re-adjust to life outside of the shelter. • Initial Transition: It’s normal for dogs experiencing shelter stress to be overstimulated or unsettled for the first few days to weeks. Allow them to set the pace for interactions and provide structure, routine, and positive reinforcement to support their adjustment.
