Aydan just turned 7 years old the first week of December. He’s a liver and white ticked and patched purebred, handsome German Shorthaired Pointer. He’s neutered, up to date with all his shots, heartworm negative and on preventive, Lyme disease negative and on flea/tick preventive. Weighs a little over 70 lbs.<br/> <br/>He’s a sweetheart; loves to cuddle, hates to sleep alone at night, loves floor time, plays gently with his toys and three children (5 yo and under) and an infant, and is content laying on his bed or the couch with perhaps the occasional bed snuggle. Aydan is extremely laid back and especially especially loves his foster Dad.<br/> <br/>Aydan is people-oriented and tends to stay close to where we all gather. When we walk through the door, Aydan is eagerly awaiting to greet us. His whole body wiggles and will often playfully pick up a shoe or toy to try to make you chase/engage him. He makes coming home a lot of fun!<br/> <br/>Some things that make him an easy dog is that he’s wonderful at letting us know when he needs to go outside or when his water dish goes empty. He’s not a barker. Aydan is very good with children and an excellent companion dog! He’s VERY tolerant of our 2 year old playing with him! He knows basic commands such as sit and lay down.<br/> <br/>Aydan is gentle, but he comes with fear. Although great with people, he gets anxious when his family is not around. Aydan needs a reinforced crate as he does not do well with extended periods of time alone however he’s fine uncrated for shorter periods. Although e-collar trained, he’s still young and very curious about unfamiliar smells so will do best with a higher solid fenced-in yard.<br/><br/>Aydan’s not a fan of other dogs in his home at all as he prefers to be the center of attention. Certainly no cats! <br/><br/>Overall, Aydan is an absolute treasure; he’s gentle, respectful, and has an enormous capacity for love. He is presently in foster care north of Pittsburgh.
