Axl's Story

AXL IS FOSTERED IN LOS ALTOS,CA

We got an email asking about surrendering a dachshund. Our hearts skipped a beat when we saw his pictures. This boy is a gorgeous wirehair dachshund. (We don't get many purebred wires in rescue and certainly not young ones). He was well loved and cared for in his previous home, but work and a new baby meant Axl was not getting the attention he so desperately wants.

In foster care, we discovered this dog is not only stunning, he a super sweet, super easy boy. He has been good with everyone.. He has also been great with the other dogs in his foster home. He leads a round of chase and wrestling for an hour or so every evening. He even has the senior dog joining in the fun.

He loves his people and he loves have canine playmates, so we are looking for a home for Axl that has both a young, playful canine companion and someone home most of the time. He is afraid of cats.

Axl will bark at loud noises, but he quiets on command. He is less forgiving of the gardeners and doesn't understand why the other dogs only give performative barks at them. Axl appears to be housebroken with a doggie door. He walks nicely on a leash and typically doesn't feel the need to bark at dogs he sees along the way. He loves chewing on things so a new home needs to be sure he has appropriate chew items

We have had Axl neutered and microchipped. He is current on his vaccinations

If you are interested in Axl, please fill out the online adoption application and email Nicole at nicolesalacain@gmail.com
