Avocado H 26093

Avocado is a senior boy with plenty of life left in him and a lifelong best friend: his brother, Oliver. He has the air of a wise old gentleman who likes to keep an eye on everything, as though he's making sure things are exactly as they should be. He's observant and thoughtful, loves cuddling with his people, and wants to please and be part of whatever is going on.

Avocado is housebroken, kennel trained, comfortable with car rides, and leash trained. He gets excited when it's time for a walk or when he sees other dogs but settles down nicely. He has also lived with a large dog who became like another brother. Avocado hasn't lived with cats, and a calmer home without young children would likely suit him best. He has completed his veterinary care, including dental care, and takes heart medication.

He and Oliver have spent their whole lives together and are hoping for a home where they can stay that way.

History: Avocado is a senior dog but still has some energy. He enjoys being with his brother, Oliver. It has been said that he has a heart murmur. Avocado and Oliver are brothers from the same litter and have been together their whole lives. They were surrendered recently due to their owner living in a van and no longer able to provide them care. They love to play with bubbles and love being in the kiddie pools. They love bones and sleeping in a bed and being pet everywhere. They are leash trained, kennel trained, are used to car rides and are house broken. They have not lived with kids and are afraid of children who run up on them and will bark at the kids. They have not lived with any other animals only each other. It was reported that when seeing other dogs on leash they will bark and lunge. They have not lived with cats. This behavior has not been observed in the shelter. In shelter, they seem to ignore other dogs and seem more interested in interacting with humans, Avocado does like to bark out of excitement.
