Avery's Story
Meet your new best friend, Avery! 🤍

Don’t let his sweet face fool you—you’d never guess this handsome guy is a senior. Avery is a dignified 9-year-old Miniature Schnauzer who’s full of life and love. He enjoys walks, car rides, and most of all, being close to his people. He’s great with children, dogs, and even cats.

Avery previously lived with another Miniature Schnauzer and does best with a canine companion. He’ll need a home with another dog—ideally similar in size—who can be his buddy and playmate.

He spent the last 9 years with his owner, who recently had to move into assisted living. Avery was her service dog, though we’re unsure what specific tasks he performed. He’s clearly a loyal and devoted companion.

Avery is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. He is potty trained but may occasionally mark, so he’ll go home with belly bands to help manage that. He also recently had a much-needed dental cleaning where he lost 27 teeth—but don’t worry, he’s recovering great and can still eat kibble just fine. Regular grooming will be important to keep him looking and feeling his best.

Avery is being fostered in Salt Lake City. If you’re interested in meeting him, please fill out an adoption application and our adoption coordinator will be in touch! His adoption fee: $250
